Manhattan City Park features ball fields, the Rose Garden, outdoor tennis and basketball courts, and plenty of open green space in which to enjoy the outdoors. The park is encircled by a mile-long multi-use trail for walking, biking, or jogging. In the Northeast section of the park, the Larry Norvell Bandshell houses the nationally recognized Arts in the Park, an outdoor evening entertainment series during the summer.

In the park, you can also visit Pioneer Cabin, a log cabin featuring exhibits about pioneer life in the tallgrass prairie.

The park also houses a 30-foot tall statue of Johnny Kaw, the pioneer Kansas wheat farmer, a tall-tale hero designed to spark interest in Kansas history.
